Munay Wasi
Munay Wasi Collective is a 501(c)(3) Indigenous cultural initiative and community space dedicated to the preservation and sharing of Indigenous knowledge, cultural traditions, land-based practices, and community healing. Founded by Gustavo Fernandez and Natalia Gianella, Munay Wasi serves as a place for cultural exchange, education, ceremony, and stewardship of the land, fostering deeper relationships between people, nature and ancestral ways of living. Their work addresses the intergenerational impacts of colonization, displacement, and systemic inequities that have disrupted access to land, spirituality, language, food systems, and communal healing practices. Through culturally grounded programming, Munay Wasi supports individuals and families in restoring connection—to self, community, and ancestral wisdom—while fostering resilience, dignity, and collective wellbeing.
Instructors
Gustavo Fernandez is a father, husband, artist, activist, culture bearer, culture maker and community leader. He is a professional chef with over 20 years of experience highlighting and advocating for Indigenous people through food, regenerative agriculture and art.
Natalia Gianella is a geographer and social worker, with over 20 years of experience serving immigrant and Indigenous children and families by providing counseling, advocacy, community organizing and Indigenous healing traditions. She is a mother and community leader.
