Gustavo Fernandez
Gustavo Fernandez was born in Queens, New York as first generation from the Caribbean coast of Colombia, Arhuaco territory. Gustavo is a father, husband, artist, culture bearer/maker, and community leader. He is a professional chef with over 25 years of experience highlighting and advocating for Indigenous people through food. He dedicates his life to being of service and encouraging a healthy, spiritual way of life. Gustavo is an active advocate for culture, land, and water protection and preservation through art curating, education, and public speaking. He is the co-founder of the Indigenous cultural center of Munay Wasi Collective Inc. in Wawarsing, NY.
