Natalia Gianella
Natalia Gianella was born in Lima, Peru, of Mochica and Inca Nation ancestry. She migrated to New York with a scholarship to complete a Master’s in Geography at Syracuse University. She then worked for over 22 years as a community organizer, advocate, family counselor and case coordinator in NYC, specializing in immigration, human trafficking and child welfare. Most recently Natalia completed her MSW at the University of New England. In her personal and spiritual journey over the past 16 years, Natalia learned herbalism, Indigenous knowledge, birth, postpartum and community care guided by elders and leaders of the Americas. Natalia is a mother, musician and community leader and the co-founder of the Indigenous cultural initiatives non-profit, Munay Wasi Collective Inc. rooted in Wawarsing, NY.
