Acceptance and Commitment Approaches for Well-being

DESCRIPTION

Acceptance and Commitment Approaches for Well-Being has been found to be a powerful approach to help reduce uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and emotions by changing the relationship individuals have with their thoughts and encouraging their commitment to behaviors aligned with personal values. In this course, we will unpack core motivations and inflexible responses, as well as identify tools to encourage psychologically flexible responses. We will discuss how avoidance interferes with well-being and the importance of being able to sit with different emotions. Further, findings from research will be shared on how these strategies, when practiced regularly, can lead to positive mental health outcomes.
