Winter Wellness Mapping
Part of a Series: Wellness Mapping with the Seasons
DESCRIPTION
This series equips NYC non-profit care providers to deepen your awareness of how seasonal shifts affect your health. You will develop a personal, seasonal practice that supports physical, emotional, and communal wellbeing. Each 4.5-hour, 2-session course explores how specific seasonal and life patterns intersect, and how aligning with natural rhythms can foster greater health and resilience. Learners may choose to take one or more courses in this series: Winter, Spring, or Summer Wellness Mapping.
Through guided lectures, reflective exercises, and personalized wellness planning, participants will gain insight into how astronomy, biophysical shifts, and the elements affect health. Each attendee will receive a personalized natal chart analysis and elemental breakdown. You will also develop a customized Wellness Mapping Journal to track shifts that you notice in your mental, emotional, and physical states and behaviors; try new care strategies to restore balance; and reflect on personal growth.
By the end of each course, participants will be equipped to apply holistic tools that support personal and community wellness through each season.
Learners who are admitted to courses in this series will be provided with a package of materials by the Academy.
Capacity in this course is limited to 20 learners to promote interaction and engagement among participants and instructors.
This series is led by Johanna Guevara, an Ayurvedic Holistic Health Coach certified under Dr. Naida Marballi, whose mission is to empower individuals to take control of their wellbeing and cultivate lasting, positive transformation in their lives. A WasteskunMeztli Canada Moon Dancer, NanixiTemikiMetzli New York Moon Dancer, and Vision Quester in Atlantida, Colombia, Johanna brings a rich tapestry of cultural and spiritual traditions to her teaching.

WHAT TO EXPECT
This course is structured to help you integrate healing practices into your daily routines.
Session 1 will introduce seasonal wellness frameworks, culturally rooted healing practices, and a seasonal herbal kit for elemental balance. Through a mix of instruction, guided self-inquiry, group dialogue, and embodied practice, participants will deepen knowledge and tools to work with the rhythms of nature and the five elements in a particular season. Each participant will receive an individualized natal chart rooted in Ayurveda to better understand your elemental constitution and create a personalized wellness strategy for the season.
Between sessions, participants will have 4 weeks to practice care strategies that support balance and wellbeing. You will receive a structured Wellness Mapping Journal to track the ways seasonal shifts impact your health and wellbeing, along with the care rituals that you try and insights that arise. Participants will submit at least one weekly reflection on their process, including any questions that emerge during your practice.
Session 2 allows participants to deepen your understanding of the practices you’ve undertaken for the past month; share with and learn from peers; and plan for wellness practices you can sustain beyond the course.
Through practice, review, and deepened reflection, participants will leave with a greater understanding of how to support your physical and emotional wellbeing through seasonal shifts and changing stress levels.
We ask that participants join and stay on-camera during the live sessions. We recommend attending from a private, quiet space.
