Kamilah Majied, MSW, PhD
Dr. Kamilah Majied is a mental health therapist, clinical educator, researcher, author, and internationally engaged consultant. She is Professor of Social Work at California State University, Monterey Bay, teaching clinical practice employing psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and artistic approaches to well-being. She also has decades of experience developing grief pedagogy and programming and serving as a grief counselor for individuals, families, and groups. As the founder of Majied Contemplative Consulting, Dr. Majied enjoys engaging people in experiencing wonder, humor, and insight through transforming oppressive patterns and deepening relationships toward ever-improving individual, organizational, and communal wellness. She is the author of Joyfully Just: Black Wisdom and Buddhist Insights for Liberated Living (Sounds True, April 2024).
