Bryan Kutner, PhD, MPH

Bryan Kutner is a clinical psychologist who specializes in motivational interviewing and a behavioral health scientist whose NIH-funded research focuses on understanding how to reduce HIV-related stigma in health care settings. Bryan first encountered harm reduction in the late 1990s and has worked in supportive housing, training and education, and HIV counseling and testing. He became a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) in 2011. Bryan completed a postdoctoral fellowship in behavioral aspects of HIV research from the HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University, where he is currently an assistant professor of clinical medical psychology. He holds a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Washington.
